They defaced their own site to hide their industry partners, and there's reports that they're getting dropped due to their horrible reputation, it also seems like the last few games that consulted them also bombed, so I guess firms are wondering why they need to pay 7 million in consulting fees just to make their product mid at best.

I feel SBI was pretty unnecessary to begin with as I feel the games they consulted on that still turned out good in the end (see the games SSmotzer listed below, like Alan Wake 2) probably only used maybe a pointer or two and then just ignored any serious attempts by them to rewrite significant beats.

Plus there are games that can be classified as "woke" both good (Baldur's Gate 3, Celeste) and bad (Dustborn) that didn't need SBI in the slightest.

Very true, they're unnecessary… but the execs in charge of all those big studios are so out of touch, that they used them anyway because they wanted to be seen as progressive and inclusive, without having to do any work of their own.

Corporate mandated "inclusivity" is a friggin' blight 😶… it reminds me of those infamous "Diversity Scores Charts" used for Overwatch.
