I’m Gonna Have Sexual Thoughts About That is a fake quote attributed to Team Fortress 2 character Saxton Hale in a fan-made edit of a Team Fortress 2 webcomic. The picture became a redraw template, as memers recreated the image with various characters.

Origin

On June 10th, 2010, the webcomic "A Visual History" was published on the official Team Fortress 2 blog.^[1] In its cliffhanger, Saxton Hale, yet-to-be CEO of Mann Co., dramatically points his finger at an out-of-frame man and calls him out.

It is unclear when the panel was first edited, but the earliest known active web page featuring the image is a September 9th, 2016 Imgur post^[6] by getoutofherestalker1, which gained over 109,000 views in eight years.

Spread

This picture became a popular reaction image and the basis for memes in sexual situations, especially on Reddit. On March 26th, 2020, a meme including a deep-fried version of the picture was posted on r/dankmemes^[2] and received over 4,400 points in four and a half years.

On August 24th, 2023, another example of the meme was posted on r/LeagueOfMemes ^[3], where it gained over 3,400 points in one year.

The image was also the basis for edits and redraws which replace Saxton Hale with other character. Some of them, such as an uncredited 2018 redraw featuring Lucky Star character Misao Kusakabe^[4] and a 2021 fan art by @Haohi_Oterin featuring their original character Aiko,^[5] became popular enough to be frequently used themselves.
