Reputation

On stream, xQc is known for his over-the-top behavior, often loudly vocalizing his excitement and frustration, as well as trash-talking his opponents. One of the most-viewed videos on his YouTube channel features him reacting to a summary of his career by theScore eSports (shown below, left). Months later, he reacted to another career summary with a more satirical tone (shown below, right). Due to xQc's habit of doing react content on stream, he has been often called a React Andy by fans.

Memes about xQc often originate from viral clips taken from his stream to poke fun at his hectic antics and hasty speech. Compilations of those exist on YouTube with millions of views accumulated throughout the years.

Go Agane is xQc's catchphrase which became popular in Ovewatch League meme culture during early 2018. On social media, the phrase has been used in reference to xQc since May 10th of that year.[4] On May 26th, Redditor u/Penta-Duck asked "What does “GO AGANE” mean in OWL twitch chat?" on /r/Competitveoverwatch.[5] On June 7th, user Exacl1bur submitted a definition of the phrase on Urban Dictionary.[6] On August 30th, musician Constera posted a music video titled "GO AGANE" (shown below) which has gathered over 1.5 million views in less than two years.[7]

Cheeto

In meme lore of xQc's community, Cheeto refers to a clip in which xQx reacts to footage of a cheetah posted by Instagram user @lisatorajaqueline[8] and misscalls the animal as "Cheeto". On October 29th, 2018, Redditor ThatSteemBloke[9] shared the clip on /r/LiveStreamFails and gained over 3,300 points in less than a month, and since, the word has become a popular reference among xQc and his viewers. On November 15th of the same year, the emote xqcCheeto (shown below, right) was submitted to FrankerFaceZ[10] by user scorae_ and soon it was added by xQc as a channel emote; however, he removed it on January 2021.[11]

Criticisms

In November 2017, xQc received a three-day matchmaking suspension for "misuse of the report system", after reporting a number of teammates and opponents for invalid reasons on stream.[21]

In December 2017, xQc received a seven-day suspension for intentionally throwing ranked games, also on-stream.[22] On December 19th, xQc issues an official apology for the incident.[23]

On January 19th, 2018, xQc made a homophobic remark towards openly gay Houston Outlaws player Austin "Muma" Wilmot while trashtalking him on stream.[24] On the same day, xQc brought his apology to the player on Twitter.[25] xQc was subsequently fined for $2,000 and granted a four-match suspension, later expanded to more matches.[26]

On March 9th, 2018, xQc received another fine and suspension for using TriHard Twitch emote "in a racially disparaging manner" on stream and on social media.[27] The suspension ultimately led to xQc's release from Dallas Fuel roster.

On November 18th, 2020, xQc received a 7-day ban from Twitch for stream sniping DrLupo during a Twitch Rivals Fall Guys tournament.[28] On the 15th in the tournament, it appeared as though a different stream sniper had given DrLupo a free win. While both xQc's and DrLupo's teams were in a tiebreaker for 3rd place, xQc sat out to stream snipe DrLupo so his own teammate could get 3rd.[29] Some criticized xQc for cheating and poor sportsmanship while others pointed out[30] that Fall Guys has public lobbies, allowing anyone to stream snipe.
