About
I Love Your Daughter is a catchphrase and the name of a viral TikTok audio sound that comes from the hit television series Gilmore Girls. The sound, first uploaded to TikTok in late 2024, quickly spread around the site with different content creators copying the dance from the scene it comes from, as others used it as a way to show off their daughters in lip dubs, memes and skits.
Origin
On April 30th, 2002, the 19th episode of the second season of Gilmore Girls was released, with part of the plot revolving around the character Kirk and a short film that he made. The short film, which was also released as bonus content with the season 2 DVD, is where the TikTok audio comes from. On July 3rd, 2009, YouTuber Adrianna Bakker[1] uploaded the short film to YouTube, where it gained over 282,000 views in 15 years (shown below).
Over 15 years later, a snippet of the film was uploaded to TikTok, kicking off a trend in the following weeks and months. On September 17th, 2024, TikToker clzvr[2] uploaded a snippet from the scene in which the words spoken were added onto the scene and a hype edit was made of Kirk's dance moves, which quickly gained over 2.7 million likes in one month (shown below).

Spread
The sound quickly became popularized on TikTok via a trend as different TikTokers posted their own videos using the audio to showcase what they would offer to show their love.
For example, on October 4th, 2024, TikToker austinpepito[3] uploaded a TikTok in which he used the background sound to show his ability to do the worm dance, earning over 7.3 million likes in two weeks for his efforts (shown below).
@austinpepito would you still love me if I was a worm? #fyp #worm #alliam ♬ afilmbykirk – ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 .ᐟ
As it continued to spread, different content creators started approaching the sound differently, with some posting their own twists on the formula. Instead of showing off a dance that they could do, on October 8th, 2024, TikToker Susi.Vidal[4] uploaded herself making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and her dog as the offerings, earning over 760,000 likes in 10 days (shown below).
